Review and Swatches: James Cooper Jazzy Collection Cream Foundation in CF-03
I was strolling around SM when I came across James Cooper counter. The brand has been mentioned by youtube gurus and in forum as well, so I bought myself this James Cooper Jazzy Collection Cream Foundation.
Weight: 20g / 0.70 Oz
Availability: Can be bought at James Cooper counter in SM Department Stores nationwide.
Shades: CF-01, CF-02, CF-03, CF-04, CF-05
The container looks sleek and small, but surprisingly, it has a lot of product inside. This would take me forever to hit pan! What surprised me even more is the oil that is sitting on top of the product, as you can see in the picture. Cream foundations have oil in them, but I didn’t expect I’d see it like this. I heard that this has very good coverage, so I decided to buy it. Unfortunately, their color selection sucks. The shade lighter than this one, which is CF-02 is way lighter than my skin tone, and has pink undertones. I am yellow-toned, as most Asians are, and for reference, I’m NC 30 in MAC. CF-01 is also pink-toned. What is weirder is that CF-02 is lighter than CF-01 when I swatched them in the mall. CF-03 is a tad darker than my skin tone, at least, it’s not pink-toned. I’d rather go darker than wear something that makes me look pink.
When I tried it at home, the first thing that came to my mind was “Holy cow, this looks like a contour color!” If Ever Bilena Stick Foundation in Beige is a little dark on me, this one is darker. I was amazed with its coverage though! If you’re into photoshoots, then James Cooper Jazzy Collection Cream Foundation would be good for you, granted that you can find a shade that suits you. I love how flawless and smooth my skin looked like. It does make me oily and feels a little heavy on my skin, though. And the worst part? It broke me out! It really stood up to its hype in terms of coverage. It is a really good foundation, but it’s just not for me. I wish they’ll make the shades more suitable for us, Filipinas since, I believe, this is a local brand.
Here’s a picture of the ingredients, if you’re curious.
You can see from the swatch how thick this cream foundation is and how dark it looks like on me. This shade is probably good for NC 35 – 40.

The foundation did a good job in covering my redness, undereye circle and random spots on the face. The shade doesn’t look too horrid in pictures, but in real life, I feel like I’m wearing a mask. It oxidizes on me after 2-3 hours, which is weird because I haven’t experienced that in any foundation.
- It contains a lot of product, which means more value for your money.
- It has an astounding coverage! I’m impressed.
- Can double up as a concealer.
- It feels like it has a lot of oil.
- Poor shade selection. This really needs improvement.
- Feels heavy on the skin.
- It broke me out.
- It has a shiny finish that needs to be topped with powder if you have oily skin.
- This can clog your pores if used everyday.
- You can use a wet sponge to apply this for a light-medium coverage. Otherwise, use a buffer brush or a dry sponge.
Rating: 5/10. I give it a five because it’s a lot of product, considering the price and it has really good coverage.
