Review and Swatches: Too Faced Look of Love Trio Set
2012
I purchased the Look of Love set from Too Faced from a pre-order. The theme of this set reminds me of Paris, which has been coined the City of Love. The set has 7 items and I really liked most of them. But this Too Faced Look of Love Trio Set really impressed me.
Price: I’m not sure how much this costs because I bought this as a set, along with 6 other Too Faced products.
Weight: 7.9 g / 0.28 OZ.
Availability: Can only be bought online
Too Faced Look of Love Trio Set has an elegant, girly packaging. It’s feminine, but durable and it doesn’t feel and look cheap, which is a plus if you adore packagings. I love that it has an accompanying mirror, which is big enough for you to see your face, especially the eye area very well. If I want to, I can bring this along and just retouch my eye makeup and cheeks using the set and the mirror.
The powder eyeshadows have ahimmery neutral colors, which is good for everyday use. The eyeshadow on the top is called Silk Teddy, which is a beige champaign color. I use this color for my lids. It works well in brightening up my eye without making me look like a disco ball. The bottom one is called Totally Toasted, which is a warm bronze color and is good for deepening the crease area for a little definition.
The blush is a cool pink color with golden shimmers. It is called La Vie en Rose, which means “Life in Pink”. It’s a really cute name, right?
It’s not as soft as the eyeshadows, but still quite pigmented. It looks bright from the packaging, but it’s not very bright on the cheeks so you can go heavy-handed on this one. You get a nice pink flush with this blush.
Here’s the swatch of the blush and the two powder eyeshadows. The eyeshadows are buttery smooth, and because of this, I just use my finger to apply this on my lids. They are pigmented, long lasting and highly blendable. Even without a primer, they don’t crease on my oily lids. As for the blush, I use an angled blush brush to apply this on my cheeks after powdering my face.
Only Silk Teddy can be purchased in case you run out of the shadows and the blush. It’s available in one of their Eyeshadow Duos. Its pair is Erotica.
Pros:
- Highly pigmented! You don’t have to keep patting the shadow from the palette to get the pigmentation that you want.
- Remarkable lasting power despite my oily/combination skin, even without powder.
- Packaging is of high quality.
- Has a usable mirror.
Cons:
- Buying this can be a pain since it’s not available locally.
- Totally Toasted and La Vie en Rose are not available individually.
- Might be a bit pricey.
Tip:
- You can use Silk Teddy as an overall eyelid color if you’re in a hurry.
